Goodreads asked René Friedrich:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

René Friedrich The initial idea came from liking a small book with thematic short quotes, and liking how quickly just a few clever words can provide happiness. I liked the idea of quotes around a theme, and started to write quotes about success, as that seemed an interesting topic with broader appeal, with room for more short quotes! Creating entertaining quotes on success was easier, however, than getting successfully a publisher for a mini-book! Undeterred, because some unbiased readers had liked my success quotes, I later created a mini-series on the theme of love, with 24 parts, like an advent calendar. By then the project had become a compilation of themes, and I nedded a third theme that could be sufficiently epic in the good company of the first two themes. My third choice became poetry, although that's know to generally please more the authors, less the readers! But knowing that, my aim was to write very short poems, to keep certain user-friendly aspects of the quotes and one liners. Having finished "Success Love Poetry" (which later became "Success, Love, Poetry" and then "Success. Love. Poetry."), but still not getting a publisher, I first added three more themes, and finally single quotes on various themes, rather than a theme-series. By then, self-publishing was easy, and social networks had confirmed that enough people would like the quotes to justify time for promotion.
