Hello Robin, lovely to see you in Poldark again. To me , your characterisation of Ross is the closest to the books. When I read the books, it is you I see as Ross. Did you think this adaptation would be the success it is? After the huge and long lasting success of the first adaptation and unmitigated disaster of the HTV production Carol Worster (from ipswich!)

I feel it is the books and Winston's storytelling that is the key.
Of course our go-round and its popularity at the time has meant that in TV terms it was not an unknown, untested thing.

Robin, One of the wonderful things about the original Poldark series was all the attention to little details. I'm fascinated with Cornish food. In one episode Demelza was serving a Stargazy pie. I don't think it fits into your cookbooks now, but did you ever eat any of the food in the series. the pasties looked wonderful. How was that pie?
