As a reader, I've always been drawn to books that had some element of mystery, supernatural, magic or horror to them. Soaking all that up has fuelled my curiosity and made me want to try my hand at it. In that sense, it wasn't really difficult. The only thing that made it more challenging than contemporary romance was balancing the paranormal action and the romance. Both needs to hook the reader, whereas there is less to master when you concentrate only on the love story as I did in "When I see your Face".
