What are your inspirations in writing stories?

Jessica Day George Um. Well. It depends. Some of my stories come from weird ideas I get when I'm super tired. Some of them come from thinking about how odd and often gross fairy tales are. SILVER IN THE BLOOD was inspired by a really bad movie, based on a really fun book, that was set in modern times and has nothing to do with Dracula. You just never know when inspiration will strike!
