Goodreads asked Mohit Goyal:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Mohit Goyal Don't think about publishing process/ sales/ marketing/ being the next Rowling or Bhagat/ troll from friends n family... all this will come much, much later.

For now, just recognise the fact that you are writing because you want to write. Take competition out of equation, especially when writing your first book and do it as you played any game as a child.

Believe me - the raw and real joy of writing can only be experienced in your first book. After you're a published author, your second work will carry a lot of expectations and pressures (depending upon the result of your first outing). But the purity of mind may well have been diluted by then...

so do enjoy your first outing. It is like going on your first date - the excitement and nervousness will be most cherished later.
