Second, Ellen Rosen loves the necklace because her father gave it to her, she is Jewish and it is the Star of David which is the icon of their religion (and it looks pretty)... Third, it means a lot to Annemarie because she kept it safe for Ellen, after she ripped it off her neck to protect them from the Nazis, and she would give it to her best friend after the war ended...
