First off, who is "her" Ellen or Annemarie? Second, Ellen Rosen loves the necklace because her father gave it to her, she is Jewish and it is the Star of David which is the icon of their religion (and it looks pretty)... Third, it means a lot to Annemarie because she kept it safe for Ellen, after she ripped it off her neck to protect them from the Nazis, and she would give it to her best friend after the war ended... Hope this helped! 😊
Hannah
The necklace means so much to her because Ellen is Jewish and the necklace is the Star of David. The guards would have been able to tell by the necklace of her religion she it's quickly ripped off. She states she has never taken it off.
