Where do you get your ideas for your books and how long does it take to finish one?

Lynsay Sands I get my ideas from real life, people I know or meet and things that happen around me. As for how long it takes to finish one, that varies. Sometimes as quickly as two weeks (although that's working 20 hour days for most of the two weeks and then 24 hour days for the last two or three days of that week) Sometimes it takes as long as a month or two though.

I write short stories for children and I often have these characters that, no matter what I try to do with them they end up going in their own direction. Do you ever encounter characters like that? If so, what do you do about them?

When you write a book do you write from start to finish or write in parts?As a new author I find I run into writers block and keep going back over the story. Personally, I tend to stick more to paranormal romance than historical or just romance but I think I might enjoy reading some of your romance. Which one do you suggest starting on?
