A Goodreads user asked Katie McGarry:

Hi, Katie, I'm thrilled to be able to ask you a question<3 So, mine is kind of cliche but oh, well. What is your inspiration? And how do you write books so long? My longest book was, like, 208 pages. how do you come up with so much material for your story?

Katie McGarry Hi Eifa,

I'm inspired by the everyday and by events in my life. I can be out for a run, see something that sparks my interest, and then the wheels in my brain start to turn.

Short stories are tougher for me to write than longer stories. I write three stories in my book: the hero's, the heroine's, and their combined story. Each main character has their own goals, conflicts, and motivations so that gives me plenty of material to work with. If I had just written the hero's book, I believe my books would be a different length.

Thank you,

Katie
