Goodreads asked Catherine Lea:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Catherine Lea Good heavens, I've been remiss. In fact, I've only just discovered this area, so please forgive me. In fact, I don't suffer from writer's block. Writer's block occurs when a writer doesn't know where the story is going. Once upon a time, I used to wing it - write whatever happens next. These days I plan the plot out in advance. It doesn't always go according to the road map, but If you plan ahead, you avoid running off the road.
