Catherine Lea Where I last left my cell phone.
Catherine Lea I have absolutely no idea. I wanted something that was akin to The Candidate's Daughter which was inspired by my daughter. I had the plot already in mind as a standalone, until one of my readers said, "Why can't the main character be Elizabeth?"

Now it is.
Catherine Lea I'm inspired by people. We very rarely read fiction that isn't about situations people find themselves in and how they cope. Any problem is solvable. It's who's solving it and how that makes good fiction.
Catherine Lea I'm currently working on so many books it's not funny. Primarily, I'm working on a follow-up to The Candidate's Daughter in which Elizabeth is the main character. She is now the custodian of the Kelsey Money Trust Fund set up by her very wealthy father-in-law to help the families of disabled children - something that's very close to her heart.

The short description for this story might be:

Stacy May Charms has 24 hours to find her child and disappear forever.

Elizabeth McClaine has 24 hours to find out why she ran, and to save her.

Sometimes, the only person you have to believe in is yourself."

After that, I'm planning on finishing another thriller/mystery. So much to do, so little time.
Catherine Lea Write and keep writing. If you ask for opinions on your work, expect to get them. If you ask ten people, you'll get ten different ones, so only ask people you respect and trust, and then listen to them.
Catherine Lea There isn't a best thing about being a writer. It's what I do. It's what I have to do. Fortunately, I love it. But if I had to dig deep and find one aspect I adore, it's that moment when I write a scene, a sentence, or a word, and I can feel the surprise in the mind of the reader because I feel that same surprise. Absolute bliss!
Catherine Lea Good heavens, I've been remiss. In fact, I've only just discovered this area, so please forgive me. In fact, I don't suffer from writer's block. Writer's block occurs when a writer doesn't know where the story is going. Once upon a time, I used to wing it - write whatever happens next. These days I plan the plot out in advance. It doesn't always go according to the road map, but If you plan ahead, you avoid running off the road.
