Where did you get the idea of mma fights for Take Me On? Also what made you decide for West to be center of the story?

Hi Ekene,
I had an image in my head one day of a guy sitting in a room by himself, all beat up and it was obvious that he had been in some sort of a professional fight. A girl walked into the room, surveyed his beat up body, then crouched in front of him. The care of which she touched him moved me deeply.
I knew I wanted to write that love story.
After I saw that image, I knew that West would be the perfect character. In Crash Into You, we learned that West had a short fuse and was often in trouble for getting into fights.
