Goodreads asked Scott B. Pruden:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Scott B. Pruden The funny thing is, I don't get truly blocked. I get busy, I get unmotivated and sometimes I just get tired. But if I intentionally sit down to write, there's a 99 percent chance that words will end up being produced. Whether those words are any good and whether they will be in a significant quantity is a different story.

I chalk this up to having worked for 15 years in the newspaper industry, where reporters don't have the luxury of writer's block. If that 300-word story is due in 45 minutes for the early edition, no self-respecting city editor will tolerate such a diva move, so you learn how to just get it done.
