hi Ms.Messenger! you are my idol and i really, reeeeeeally hope i get to meet you one day. I'm writing a story for fun and need a name for my main character and her bf(<3). maybe you could help? you seem to be really good at coming up with names.

Aw, I hope I get to meet you too, someday! But alas, I can't be any help for your question. For me, naming characters is SUPER important to the process of getting to know them well enough to write them. I always know their backstory and personality long before I ever give them a name, and then I spend a great deal of time reading baby name books and websites trying to find a name with the right sound and meaning to embody something personal about the character. (Like how Sophie means "wisdom.") So knowing nothing about your character, I wouldn't know where to start--and even if I had a long list of info about your character, I feel like I'd be steering you wrong if I were the one to name them. It would be like naming someone else's child. They're your character, you should get the special joy of finding the perfect name for them. Good luck!

During your fall tour: Thursday November 5 3:30pm Hickleebee’s 1378 Lincoln Ave San Jose, CA 95125 I was wondering how long you will be there because I was planning to go after school, and with traffic, I might not get there until 4 pm. Also, will you be signing books, and can I bring my own books from home for you to sign?

Have you ever been writing the plot outline, or even a chapter in one of your books, when-GAH! You realize the plot is supposed to go a different way, no matter how great your first idea was, and you have to re-write the whole thing. If you've experienced this, what did you do about it?
