Lisa Schroeder Hi Emily, I'm so glad you are enjoying FAR FROM YOU. Thanks for letting me know. This book was partly inspired by a true story that happened in the news a number of years back. A family was traveling over the Thanksgiving holiday and due to a snow storm, they took some backroads and got lost. Their family didn't know what had happened to them, and everyone was really worried about them. If you'd like to read more about the true life events, you can google "Kim tragedy in the Oregon wilderness." My story has different elements and a different ending, of course. I had also always wanted to write a character who was a singer/songwriter, so that came into play, along with Alice in Wonderland elements, which was another thing I'd had in the back of my mind.
