Courtney LaSalle asked Miranda Kenneally:

Parker is my absolute favorite character so far. How did you come up with her story? Also when writing your books do you have anything that you have to have when writing? Ex: music, coffee, silence, etc.

Miranda Kenneally Parker was definitely a character that developed over time. From the very beginning, I knew that her mom had come out as a lesbian and left the family, but I didn't quite know who Parker was or how what her mom did affected her. At first, she was very much a goody two-shoes, but as I kept writing she started to become a bad girl. That's when I realized that her story should start *after* she'd developed a reputation because she thought she needed to prove to bullies at school that she wasn't like her mom.

When I'm writing, I always have to have the TV on as white noise in the background!
