[Spoiler] At the end of the book one half of the black stone pendant, possessed by Marjorie is given to Marcus, but what happened to the other half of the stone pendant? Was it lost down the lineage?

Judy Lindow (spoiler) I agree with Laurel, that that's the last time I read about it. I thought they might have it on display as part of the tour, at the end or that maybe I missed it (my reads are usually mystery genre these days). It could be symbolic that a child from the African lineage gives it to the American/slave lineage - physically he'd just returned "home" ... but the story also makes it clear, that you can't really go "home" as now so much has passed and changed ... rather that going home, "returning", is the process, rather than the actual resolution of being in one spot.

Susan It was lost in the dungeon of the castle whereEsu was imprisoned
Maggie Lynne Yes, when Esi was in the dungeon they began stripping the prisoners so to keep it safe she swallowed it. Later it came out and she buried it to keep it safe. When she’s taken out of the dungeon she starts screaming to be let back in to find it and the guards physically pick her up to drag her outside.
