How do you get inspired to write?

Nikki Bennett I've always written, but when I was young, I never finished anything. When I was 40, we moved to Japan and started traveling around, and the more I traveled, the more I felt inspired to write. Most of my ideas come from places I've visited: some indelible in my memory, like the stormwater culvert in Hong Kong that inspired FOUR FIENDS; others are more subtle--places I work into a story because they inspired me when I visited.
