I’ve always been used to working through when the ideas are flowing but that’s not always possible for some, especially if you are dependent on other people. Writing is a solitary occupation but it also means you can please yourself when you work.
Field trips to gather research material are also great fun, especially when you genuinely learn something from the experience.
