Alsweider Many details are left out or changed in the film. Toponyms, the dog's names, terrains, motives, parts of the background story etc. They removed or reduced the roles of important supporting characters such as Dr. Dobbler and Sam Vincent. There is more fireworks and walking away without looking at explosions. The structure of the main plot and the character roles are basically the same as in the book. The film is rather mediocre, the book is much better and more nuanced, in my opinion.
Alexandr Bondaruk Yes! But both awesome!
Manolo Well, I've watched the movie a few times (I love it) and I've also watched the TV show... and now I'm reading the book.
And despite many things are like in the movie (not 100%) I'm enjoying a lot this book, and willing to know how things turn out.
Think also that this book was written in 1993 and the movie was done already in the 2000's. So the technology is already a differentiator ;-)
