Adrienne D'Nelle Ruvalcaba
Adrienne D'Nelle Ruvalcaba asked Xyla Turner:

What's the best paragraph/passage you have ever written? Why do you feel it's the best? What inspired it? Which book is it from?

Xyla Turner I would say the best passage I've written was when the reporter in Under Further Review, asked Shane how he was holding up after his father died and his response was that he wasn't holding. The best man he's ever known was no longer here as he'd always had been. He made comparisons about how they, the media, looked at athletes as figures and sports puppets but it was much deeper than that.
I felt it was the best because it came from a place that I think I could relate to on some level. As someone who hasn't grown up with my father but later met him and then he passed away before he could see any of his grandkids, is heartbreaking. There are a plethora of emotions that are attached to that passage but I cried so much, I couldn't get it out. However, I never forgot a word.
This is from Under Further Review.
