I don't usually need much inspiration, partly because I know the value of my writing discipline, and partly because it's just habit after so many years. But for those times when motivation is indeed a little tougher to come by, I have my computer set up to alternate the desktop wallpaper with images I've saved, and many of them are inspiring words or quotes about writing. One of my favorites is Anne Lamott's advice to "write the best, most amazing book you can, the wisest, most honest, most human book you have inside." That's sometimes just the prompt I need to get going again.
