Usually if I'm struggling to focus on the topic I'm supposed to, I find it's because I have something else on my mind that's in the way. Turning my attention inward to draw whatever it is out gets me in the moment of writing and gives me ongoing practice at expressing what is true, which is always valuable in any format.(less)

More of Kate's books…
“Love doesn’t die with death. Love is like liquid; when it pours out, it seeps into others’ lives. Love changes form and shape. Love gets into everything. Death doesn’t conquer all; love does. Love wins every single time. Love wins by lasting through death. Love wins by loving more, loving again, loving without fear.”
Kate O'Neill

“Relevance is a form of respect.”
Kate O'Neill

“Embrace iteration as the road to improvement, but don't let that lull you into rolling out poorly-thought-out crap.”
Kate O'Neill, Lessons from Los Gatos: How Working at a Startup Called Netflix Made Me a Better Entrepreneur

“Humanity has advanced, when it has advanced, not because it has been sober, responsible, and cautious, but because it has been playful, rebellious, and immature.”
tom robbins

“Think like a wise man but communicate in the language of the people.”
William Butler Yeats

“We think because we have words, not the other way around. The more words we have, the better able we are to think conceptually.”
Madeleine L'Engle

“I often feel like I want to think something but I can't find the language that coincides with the thoughts, so it remains felt, not thought. Sometimes I feel like I'm thinking in Swedish without knowing Swedish.”
Peter Cameron, Someday This Pain Will Be Useful to You

“The truth is, everyone is going to hurt you. You just got to find the ones worth suffering for.”
Bob Marley
