What do you do about readers like me who don't "review," but muse, and spend a few days gathering their thoughts? As for me, as a muser, I do hope you go back. Nice work Ben. Your book appealed to my dad, who is a retired volcanologist who rarely reads anything but mystery, and to me, a pretty hard core science fiction/fantasy poetry reader. I'm looking forward to reading more your work in the future. My question: Was exploring Culverson, as a character, the catalyst that kept you writing more than one book, or were you planning a trilogy from the get go?

I think your "Last Policeman" books have a nice sense of place (even though I've never lived in New Hampshire.) I live in Chicago and many of the books I've read that are set there have a horrible sense of place (although "The Time Traveler's Wife" is a notable exception.) Do you do location research when setting a novel? How important to you is "getting facts right" when writing a novel?
