Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Tom Mitoraj Over the years, I have seen many kids face difficult situations while their parents or adult leaders sometimes struggled with how to help these kids. In other situations, I have observed parents, who questioned what approaches they should be taking with kids they are responsible for, even when the kids weren't struggling with anything specifically troubling. Of course, as the parents of five kids, including two adopted boys, my wife and I have faced our own share of dilemmas, some typical and some not so typical. At the same time, I have always observed adults, who I have worked with over the years and tried to identify the traits that make them successful and respected. Combining what I learned from my parents with my experiences in the Boy Scouts, the Navy, teaching, and working as a professional engineer, I decided that I could help adults, who are passionately dedicated to raising good kids.
