Hello ! I read "White Oleander" and I can't express how much it impressed and moved me.It was such a depressing ,yet touching story.My favourite characters were Astrid and Claire.My question regards Ron : was he having an affair ? Did he loved Claire ? Thank you and good luck with your new book !

Janet Fitch Hi Mihai! Thank you for your kind words. Re Ron--I believe he was. But it doesn't mean that a reader can't have their own take on it--I think I write a book but the reader completes it, bringing their own sensitivities and interpretations. I have a cousin who doesn't believe Ingrid killed barry at all--that she was just so egocentric she assumed she did! I know that Ron loved Claire but I think he was getting tired of her depression and anxiety.
