Al asked Amy Spector:

Progressive entrapment ?

Amy Spector What a wonderful question, Al. Thank you for asking.

I first became aware of progressive entrapment thanks to the 1986 horror film/public service message, Witchboard.

Starring Tawny Kitaen and American television soap star, Stephen Nichols, this film brought the condition to light for millions of moviegoers in the mid eighties and millions more since its initial release on DVD in 2004.

The three steps of progressive entrapment–seduction, entrapment, possession–are widely considered quite dangerous and a strong argument against allowing a Ouija Board in one's home overnight.

Seduced by the lure of the Ouija, one finds themselves consulting it more and more frequently, trapped into needing its consultation to function in everyday life, and inevitably, possessed by the evil spirit that has been conversing with them, through it.

If you would like more information and decide to watched Witchboard for yourself, I ask that you please remember the drinking game.

Take a drink any time any of the following things happen...

1. Someone says the word ouija
2. Lloyd appears on screen
3. we see Jim’s chest hair.
4. anyone says the phrase psychic humor
5. any time there is sexual tension between Jim and Brandon.
6. any time Tawny says a curse word
7. someone says progressive entrapment
