Hannah asked Sarah Sundin:

I know this is slightly random, but I absolutely love all your characters names in the Wings of Glory series! Not only are they beautiful, but they fit each character and the WWII era. So many period books have characters whose names wouldn't have been popular in that time. But yours are, and I love them! Where do you get inspiration for naming your characters? p.s. And I know I said "characters" too many times. :)

Sarah Sundin Thank you, Elphie! I try very hard to have character names that reflect the era. I have a habit of "collecting" period names - from friends, relatives, and acquaintances of that age - from working in a hospital - and also from research. For example, there is kind of a yearbook for the WWII flight nurses, with hundreds of women's names. I'll often flip to that when trying to name female characters. It's a small thing that only requires a little effort - but it makes a huge difference to have ladies named Betty, Helen, and Dorothy rather than Kassidi, Madison, and Taylor :)
