Joanna Elm asked Rebecca Forster:

I just finished and reviewed your novel, Severed Relations, which I really enjoyed. I am curious about the self-publishing aspect of your career. Have you ever thought of going the traditional publishing route. And, if not, why not?

Rebecca Forster Joanne, good morning and than you so much for reading and reviewing Severed Relations. To answer your question, I spent twenty five years as a traditionally published author and worked very hard for publishers like Pocket Books, Harper Collins and Kensington. Unfortunately, there came a time when sales of my books weren't meeting the publisher's sales goals and I was unable to find a spot with them. When the rights to my three Witness Series books were reverted to me I found there was a core group of readers who were very loyal so I began writing as an indie. Now there are 7 of those books with over two million downloads. Severed relations is the start of a new series. I miss the traditionally published days but times change and I moved forward . I guess it's true what they say, writer write no matter what lol. I hope this wasn't too much information. Publishing is, indeed, a strange and exciting industry., isn't it? I hope you'll take a look at Foreign Relations when it comes our or maybe Hostile Witness - That's a good one because it's free :). Thanks again and hope you're staying cool. Rebecca
