Pwishes asked Penelope Douglas:

Where did you find all of the teaching ideas for Misconduct?! Easton's use of social media and overall ability to engage her class were really great.

Penelope Douglas I learned a lot of it when I was a teacher. I taught younger kids in a low income neighborhood, most of whom didn't have cell phones or home access to the Internet, but I was required to go to trainings where some of these methods we taught. Even if I wasn't going to use them.

Basically, we learned, instead of battling cell phones and kids trying to sneak looks at them under their desks, to embrace it as a tool. If we allow them access to these things (keeping it on their desks, at least) then they're not wondering about them or distracted, wondering how they'll sneak a peek.

And some ideas came from Pinterest. Social media is forever. If we don't have Facebook, we'll have something like it. Teachers can choose to use energy battling it or use it for good. It engages students, so the smart educators will embrace it ;)

Thanks for reading!!
