What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Sara A. Survivor I used to love to write poetry, short stories and to read but those activities slowly dropped off over the years due to the underlying trauma. I still write for corporations and I do a good job with that - but that kind of writing is not personal. I struggle with my own story because of the underlying trauma and because it is so personal and I feel very vulnerable in making it public. But the best advice anyone ever told me was to write what you know and to write what you believe in.
