It is roughly based on the Manson Family and cult leader Charles Manson. It also provides a good look into a young teenager's psyche - the listlessness and boredom. Admittedly the writing could be better and the book could have been made more gripping given the subject matter. However, it is an interesting topic and I would recommend it.(less)
