A Goodreads user asked Michelle Sutton:

No problem Michelle. I have a new question as a result of your lengthy reply though - lol. My book is very real, almost scary real and I've been told that I'm a very articulate writer, which I suppose makes me a good author but how can I possibly ask anyone else to read it when I have no way of letting it be read for free? I can't afford that as a struggling author regardless but I really need some reviews.

Michelle Sutton To answer this question I need to ask a few myself. How are you published? If you have an agent then that person can negotiate for you to get you free books to use for promotion. If you published yourself through Amazon then doing a giveaway for promoting your books is free and you will get some reviews from that which generates more sales. Also doing a giveaway on Goodreads helps. You may not always like the reviews but a ton of readers will add your book to their shelves and eventually read it even if you only gave away one book. Does that help?
