Is Valentine Napier pronounced Valent-aye-ne or Valen-teen? I know it's usually the former but my friend told me that when it is a first name it is pronounced Valen-teen... but then again he could have been joking. How do you think it's said?

It's pronounced Valentine (VAL-un-tine) like the card or holiday in English. Perhaps your friend is thinking of the French pronunciation of Valentin? (Val-UH-ta)

And yes, another question, but what books [historical, critical, whatever] can you recommend for research on writing historical romance novels, especially those set on the Georgian/Regency/Victorian era? [It's a dream of mine to make a romance novel set on one of these eras, and I've outlines concerning this, but most research books I have about romance novels are contemporary].
