The zone and being able to work at home. If you've never experience the zone, its a rarified state which, for me, is all consuming. I lose all sense of time and place and become so involved in the story that I'm almost not aware of typing on my keyboard. I love being transported like that. It's why I read, and one of many reasons why I write.
