My Question Is this. Ive read many books and have read all of the unwanteds series and it is one of my favorite series. My question is how do you start a book? what i mean is that i have some ideas for books that i think would be really good and i start to write a book and after a couple of sentences i read what i just wrote and it sounds wrong somehow, could you try to offer up a solution for me?

Lisa McMann I think you need to keep going even if what you wrote doesn't sound quite right. Often I'll write a whole book, then go back to the beginning and edit it until I find the real beginning spot. So don't stress about it -- just keep going. You'll find the real beginning later.
Also, it helps to start a story at the beginning or middle of some sort of action. Skip all the boring stuff about who the character is -- you can put that in on page 2 or 3. Good luck!
