Goodreads asked S.C. Eston:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

S.C. Eston The first things that come to mind are: don't wait to start, and once you do, keep at it.

I waited too long before starting to write, thinking for the longest time that I was not a writer, and never would be. If you feel the need to write or think you might enjoy it, give it a try. You have nothing to lose, and you may just find a new passion (like I did).

Now that I am pass that first hurdle, one of my main challenges is carving out enough time to write. In the end, though, it's about taking it one word at a time, and sticking with it. It’s that simple. Writing is a lot of work, but it is done one small step at a time. And if you can only scribble down a few words a day, that will still eventually get you to the end of your story.

Finally, I would also encourage anyone to take the time to learn about writing, about structure, elements, and rules. For a few years, I read books, and took courses, and read more books, and joined writing groups. I learned so much, while gaining an appreciation for the craft. It’s not going to be a waste of your time, I promise you.
