What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Craig Zerf Well...it's not the money! It's lonely. You become a borderline schizophrenic as you slowly lose the line between reality and your own fantasy world. Criticisms and bad feed back leave you suicidal and writers block hovers over you like a guillotine waiting to drop...but none of that matters. Because the process of creation is a truly fantastic thing to be a part of. At the end of each novel you sit back and take a look and say - I did that. That was me. Priceless.

So I am reading Emily Shadowhunter (Amazing btw) and I have a question about book 4. I thought Alpha Lucas died in book 3 I think it was but he was mentioned in book 4 in Troy's punishment fight. Did I miss something?
