Craig Zerf Hi Bridget - thanks for the compliment. Made my day.

I like a huge range of genres - before fantasy I was really into Wilbur Smith. Heavy, violent thrillers.

Now, however, I tend towards Fantasy, mainly Urban and then Epic. Cross over authors like Michael Marshal Smith are great. David Gemmell is a fantastic Epic Fantasy writer. Terry Pratchett for Humorous Fantasy.

Shayne Silvers, Orlando Sanchez and Logsdon are excellent Urban Fantasy writers.

In the last few weeks I have been reading a lot of LitRPG. Sort of Dungeons and Dragons type stuff ... the verdict is stiil out on that.
Craig Zerf Hi Mark - So happy that you like my work. Makes my day...week! I need to write faster, you've almost read my entire backlist. The only series left is Emily Shadowhunter. I wanted to write a female lead. It's also UF, werewolves, vampires and loads of kick ass action.

Thanks for the encouragement.

Craig Zerf Hi Amanda - sorry I have taken so long to reply. I keep missing new questions on Goodreads for some reason. Hell...you are correct. I blundered and my editor didn't pick that up...I killed Lucas TWICE!

I am busy re-writing the Troy fight scene with the new temporary Alpha. Should take a few days and then I will upload it.

Thanks for picking that up...I have sold over twenty thousand copies of Shadowhunter and you are the first person to inform me. Well spotted.
Craig Zerf Hi Sherry - sorry I took so long to answer this. I have been working on my new series "The Bloodborn Project" and haven't had much time to check out Goodreads. To answer your question - No more Forever Man for a while. I will be working on Bloodborn and then another series (Shotgun & Zulu - witchdoctor for hire). THEN - More Forever Man. Thanks for the interest. Craig.
Craig Zerf Louis and Lestat from Interview with a Vampire. Why? Although I do write about vampires I have no love for them. I find them to be narcissistic, cruel and self-serving. (I suppose that you could be little else if you literally had to murder people to live). And I think that both Louis and Lestat get these attributes across so well. A twisted and abusive relationship that manages to last for over a century. Dark, desperate and, ultimately, doomed – Louis and Lestat’s relationship makes for hypnotic reading. Not the happiest but definitely my favorite fictional couple.
Craig Zerf Sometimes you need to take a break...sort of, let your brain fill up again. Some say that you must write X words every day...not me. When you're in the groove then go for it, man. When you simply sit and stare and wonder WTF? Well...get up, go for a walk and just think. Let the book come alive in your head and let it play out - like a movie. You'll find that it's all there, inside your noggin. You just need to figure out how to let it out...don't stress about it.
Craig Zerf Well...it's not the money! It's lonely. You become a borderline schizophrenic as you slowly lose the line between reality and your own fantasy world. Criticisms and bad feed back leave you suicidal and writers block hovers over you like a guillotine waiting to drop...but none of that matters. Because the process of creation is a truly fantastic thing to be a part of. At the end of each novel you sit back and take a look and say - I did that. That was me. Priceless.
Craig Zerf It sounds trite but...write. And write in your own voice...don't attempt to emulate or write in the style of...simply write what you feel and enjoy. It should never be a chore...remember why you do it - it's love, man. True love!
Craig Zerf Book 3 of "The Forever Man" series - Clan War.
Craig Zerf It took me years of graft and grind to get to the stage were I could live off my writing alone. Now that's all that I do - I love it and one needs no inspiration to do what one loves...it simply happens whenever I sit down in front of a keyboard and a blank screen - like magic!
Craig Zerf My most recent book is the second of the "Forever Man" series. I was intrigued by an article that I read discussing the effects of an electromagnetic pulse on modern day lifestyle. Basically - an EMP would destroy all of out modern electrical goods (and I mean all - cars, planes, lights etc)...in short, we would be plunged back into the dark ages. Humanity would suffer a 90% die back in the first year. However, I was also interested in writing a kick-ass heroic fantasy novel as well...so - I combined the two. So we get the hero - marine sergeant Nathaniel Hogan, trolls, orcs, goblins, alien and more. Great fun.
