No question, just wanted to say that it has been a long time since I read a book that I just had to sit and read until I finished it----"The Summer Before the War" was just that book, it was a beautiful Sunday afternoon and I laid on the couch and read and read and read. I just had to finish it. Thank you for such a lovely story. Bring on more. I don't mind waiting. Are you writing another?
Helen Simonson
Thank you Diane. I'm so thrilled to hear you could not stop reading! Yesterday I sat in my sunny garden under an umbrella and worked on my third novel. I have a very long way to go but it felt good to be diving into a new story. No promises on how long it will take me but it certainly motivates me to know that readers are waiting for me. Have a wonderful summer. Regards, Helen Simonson

I absolutely loved this book. I listened to it on a car trip. I fell in love with Major Pettigrew and Ali. My favorite quote: "We do what we can. The rest is God's problem." I've added it to my 7th step prayer I read every morning. Thank you for writing this inspiring and absorbing book. I really just wanted to thank you and acknowledge you for that. But this comment must have a question mark, so here it is…? :)
