Hi David!
As for any writer, my life experiences inform everything I write but usually not in the direct way that people might suppose. None of the things in the book really happened to me or to anyone I know. Usually, it's the feeling a character has or a challenge. The situations themselves or the plot are not inspired by my life or the lives of anyone I personally know.
