Do you have any tips for an aspiring author? I tend to have issues getting myself to actually sit down and write.

Kimberly McCreight Focus on something small--one scene, one exchange--rather than the whole story, or (even worse) a whole novel. That's overwhelming even when you've written several books. Beyond that daily word counts and a schedule work well. As does fear---I find fear to be an excellent motivator.
