Write write write write write write write. Get your eyes on your goals and never look away. If you want to be published by a Big 5 publisher, decide to DO THAT and work so that you achieve that goal. Write until someone says yes. (And then keep writing if you want writing to be your job.)
And never, EVER decide that you have learned all there is to learn about writing. You can always do better! People DO notice authors who consistently improve their craft. :)
