I'm confused about The Case of the Missing Frog Prints and Once Upon a Crime. I read Frog Prints first because it's listed as the first book in the series. Once is listed as the second. But it's as if Gretel is meeting Ferdinand for the first time in the second book when they're already acquainted in the first. What's going on?

Paula Brackston Hi Amber, sorry to be slow responding. It is confusing, I agree. The original order was Once Upon A Crime first, but when the series came out in the US it was decided to put Frog Prints out first and then the first one as a prequel. If you see what I mean. We authors get little say in this. Hope the confusion hasn't spoiled your enjoyment. I love writing the Gretel books. I think it was my true calling to try to make people laugh in this gloomy world.

Hiya Paula! It might be the flu, but I'm very confused. I own The Winter Witch and The Midnight Witch, on the spine of which it says they're both Shadow Chronicles. However, according to Goodreads, Midnight Witch isn't on that list? In which order should I read them? I'm waiting for The Witch's Daughter to arrive before I begin, and I'm very excited. They sound really great. Anyway, thanks!

Being a writer is what I want the most in this world, nothing makes me happier than writing, but I'm more and more frustrated with each passing day, because I've been blocked for 3 years. I'm finishing up The Winter Witch and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! I was just wondering if Morgana and Cai ever have a family? And if the people in their town ever accept Morgana? I truly truly TRULY loved it, and I thought The Return of the Witch was my favourite of your books, but The Winter Witch has truly topped it! And will there be more books to come for the Shadow Chronicles? If there is, I cannot wait for it!
