Vampire or supernatural fiction is a hot genre right now. What Process did you use to make your characters stand out from the crowd? How do you feel your story was different?

Deborah Harkness I think that what made them stand out was I wasn't trying to write supernatural fiction. The fact that Diana and Matthew are witch and vampire is just part of their story--like the fact she is blonde and went to Bates College.
