Toshita
Toshita asked Michael Grant:

People say that authors write the books they would rather read, do you find this statement applying to you?

Michael Grant No.

People say a lot of things about writers. Writers especially say a lot of things about writers because many writers are desperate to be seen as demigods graciously sharing their gift with the benighted masses, so they get into self-aggrandizing bullshit.

This is my job. I work hard at my job, and I try to do my best. I make up stories for a living, and I write those stories down. I want to surprise readers, and I want the same when I'm reading. So I read books very different from what I write, and I hope those books will entertain me as I hope to entertain my readers.
