Hello Mr. McClellan, Firstly thank you for breathing new life into fantasy by bringing it to a later point in time. It's thoroughly refreshing compared to the usual medieval setting. One question; what in your opinion makes a good magic system? I am totally digging the authenticity of your powder mages. How in the world did you ever come up with the system?

Brian McClellan Lots of stuff goes into a good magic system. Uniqueness is big, as well as in-world consistency. I'm a big fan of magic systems that are active, rather than passive. Most anything will work if you write it right, but that's always the kicker.
