Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

A.E. Howe I've always wanted to do a mystery series. I spent most of my early years reading mysteries. Also, I'm fascinated by true crime stories and have spent a lot of time around law enforcement officers. Mysteries seemed a very natural fit, and I wanted to write something that focused on the area of north Florida where I live. I hope anyone who is interested will check out my blog posts where I tell a little bit about the animals in my life that have inspired the supporting cast of critters in the Larry Macklin books.
