Hi, it is nice to meet you via Goodreads Sylvain :) From your books it is obvious that you are fascinated by art and beauty as much as your characters. One of the reasons I enjoy reading your novels are all the references to literature and works of art you make. I want to ask: do you have a favourite painter/painting that you especially like?
Sylvain Reynard
Hello Lady Alexandrine,
Thanks for your question.
When I was writing The Gabriel Series trilogy, Henry Holiday's painting of Dante and Beatrice was extremely influential. I thought that it captured a moment between the two that I wanted to capture in the novels.
For "The Raven" the focus is primarily on Botticelli's work. I can't say too much about it at the moment because I don't want to spoil it, but I can say that there are a few surprises …
All the best and thanks for reading, SR

Hello Sylvain After reading Gabriel's trilogy, you and him inspired me to study the Italian Renaissance, Botticelli, Florence, Michelangelo and Dante. I can't thank you enough for the great experience of reading your book and discovering Dante and Florence. Do you have a favorite/recommended translation of Dante or you read it directly in Italian?

Hello Mr Reynard!! I just have to say in a gushy manner that I adore your Gabriel books!! I was just wondering if you are taking any beta readers for The Raven. The book looks like it's going to blow away the Gabriel books and believe me when I say that would be hard to do!

I don't really have a question for you Mr Reynard, I just wanted to say I just re-read all the Gabriel books in anticipation of Gabriel's Promise. I read them all a few years back when they first came out and I loved them so much. I had forgotten just how much until I re-read them. And man alive do I ever have a book hangover now waiting for December (haha)! Are you accepting ARC readers for Promise? tyvm!
