Cait-Elise asked Charlaine Harris:

Hello, Charlaine! I really enjoy writing, and I was wondering what suggestions you would have for someone trying to become a stronger writer. I've always read that if you're a writer you need to be a reader. I also always hear that you should write every day. What would you suggest? If writing every day to exercise that muscle, do you write different things? Or should you write one story? Thank you for your time! :)

Charlaine Harris I do not trust a writer who is not a reader, frankly. And writing every day is the best way to learn. I think it's really important to pick a project and finish it. Don't discard it because you've run out of plot. Work on it. I know a lot of budding writers who keep beginning and discarding works because they've "thought of something better." Not a good idea.
